Someone once said that you're not truly at the peak of your creativity unless you're juggling at least seven projects at once. That person has obviously never tried 3D. I know that this will date me, but I can recall the first day of training on Softimage 3.7 on an SGI Indy at Mesmer Animation Lab. That evening I had trouble sleeping just because my mind was rushing with possibilies. Today, going on 9 years, I still think about the possibilites in the same light, with the same amount of excitment as that first day. This is why I work on personal projects. The creations, the solutions to impossible problems, the constant learning of new techniques and technology, the meeting of new talents and minds. The job feeds the stomach, but the personal projects feeds the soul.
